Swimming pools
Now let’s talk about the pools, there are 3, a beach type, a semi Olympic and one for children, there is also a jacuzzi, sauna and Turkish bath (hammam).
This is the beach type pool, very nice, spacious and pleasant with a modern style, has a fountain or waterfall that turn on sometimes, something important to mention is that in this hotel is mandatory to use a bathing cap for people with long hair so your photos in the water will not be as you imagined, for some this is good but for others it is quite annoying because it is not a public pool, you can not enter with shirts or bathroom outings. This pool is open until 6 pm and there is a bar nearby where you can order snacks and drinks, not included in the plan. It closes a little early for my taste but then you can go to the main pool that works until 9 at night.
There are plenty of sunny chairs and tables however we had an inconvenience when asking for the towels for the pool, although it was not high season they were not available and we had to bring the ones from the room.
This is the semi Olympic pool, it is the main of the hotel, it is in front of the restaurant and it is the most crowded especially because it is next to the children’s pool and the jacuzzi, it has a maximum depth of 3.20 meters and minimum of 1 meter, the service hours are from 9 in the morning to 9 at night, except for non-holiday Mondays, here you can see the regulations.
It is a fairly large pool in which you can swim comfortably, at night they turn on some beautiful lights that give a romantic touch to your stay.
The children’s pool is large and is next to the jacuzzi, it usually remains full, this photo was taken at 8 am, before it is put into operation.
You can walk the main part of the hotel at night, not all is lit, the section of the beach pool remains darker but this trail is ideal for walking after dinner.
The awakening is something very pleasant, the song of the birds is a great attraction and while we go to the restaurant for breakfast we see many animals, even squirrels climbing through the trees
Meals and food
The restaurant at breakfast is buffet style and has a nice view of the pool and tennis court, people treated us well, the variety of products is acceptable but not excellent. We found few fruits, a rich fish stock, cereals, eggs and some drinks, for the price of the room and being included in the plan seems fine, however for some people lunch and dinner (they are not buffet) is quite expensive it may be better to take a taxi to the city of Girardot which has a cost of 4000 to 6000 pesos and you can find all kinds of restaurants according to your taste and much cheaper.
For those who want to have lunch at the hotel there is a daily menu or you can order dishes à la carte, the menu of the day is not so expensive, lunch the day we tried had a cost of 26,500 pesos about 10 dollars and included cream of spinach, sautéed loin or grilled pork and accompaniments white rice, potato in helmets and salad, drink, passion fruit juice.
In general the facilities are good, the best the abundant vegetation, we give it 3 stars since there are some aspects to improve.
For lunch if you have time and like fish we recommend going to the municipality of Flanders which is very close, in front of the Magdalena River there are good restaurants and you can enjoy this incredible view, then cross the railway bridge to end a good weekend. you can know more information on the hotel official website
